The re-enlistment bonus came today. I was so very shocked when I checked the bank account and saw it there. I jumped up and started hollering for Thomas to come into the bedroom and look. But now I am sad because it is mostly gone. But I am also happy because we paid off $4933.31 of debt. And we'll be paying off another $900 on the first, we would pay it now, but we can't stop the allotment, so we might as well wait until the first. Then I did an estimate of our tax return because our December LES is up - we should get back about $6300 from federal and probably another $800 or so for state (I'm guessing on the state.) That'll pay off the remaining debt (about another $1000. I know.) and then we'll only have the car payment! Of course, sadly, in June/July we're going to have to get a van payment. I'm hoping we can find something for around $7-8000 and only finance $3-4 (because we're putting the remainder of the tax return aside to pay for a down payment) so while we just paid off a lot of stuff, we'll have more in June/July. *sigh* I guess that's life though. Hopefully Thomas will be promoted to E5 soon, that would mean another $200/m. He thinks it could be another year though :(
We went out to eat tonight, because we haven't been out to eat in like forever. And we figured since we paid off all this stuff, we should treat ourselves, right? Well we went to Applebees, which is really good.. but it's better when your children will sit down and eat. For some reason, Xander did not want to sit. We ended up eating quickly and leaving. *sigh* I don't think we'll be going to a sit down restaraunt for a few months.
After that we went to the mall because Thomas needs a new pair of running shoes, but he didn't want to pay $50 for a pair. So he's going to go to the PX tomorrow sometime I suppose. I got some oil insence (lavender dreams, chamomile, and mediation). I also got the 2005 Witches Calendar. I wanted to pick up two controllers for the Gamecube Jamey is getting for Christmas so we can all play Mario Kart but I'll be damned if I'm paying $20 for a controller. I told Thomas we'd look at the PX and Wal-Mart. I even looked at the used and they were $15! No, they'll be cheaper somewhere else. I hope. It's not that we can't afford it, it's that I think that's ridiciously expensive. I was figuring $15 new, $10 used. Oh well.
Oh! It snowed this morning!!!
Pretty! Just enough to cover the ground. And it was icey! I am so not used to it, I nearly fell on my ass a couple times. Thomas and Jamey went out to play in it for a bit, but not too long because we haven't bought snowsuits or boots yet. He did have a jacket, gloves, and hat of course though. Xander and I stayed in, mostly because I was trying to get him to nap. But he wouldn't. So frustrating. Actually, he would fall asleep, I just couldn't put him down.
Ok, I'm sleepy. I think I'll go to bed now.
